share some love!

Just an FYI... if you want to leave a comment declaring your love and affection (or perhaps to say how cute you think your grandchild is), you can!! Click on "comments" at the end of the post........ we'd love to hear from you!!!

feeling Creative

Sometimes I just get the compulsive urge to do something creative. There's no telling how long the urge will stick around though, and what often happens is that I dive 110% into the project and then about half way through it's completion, the ambition and zest leaves me. Thankfully, I was able to keep the creative juices flowing long enough to finish this project. It's a gift for a baby shower next week. The baby girl's nursery is hot and light pink, green, black crib, and owls. I hope they like it! (Best part was that I didn't have to go out and buy a single thing for this. I had it all in the house.)

Z, while I was working on my project.

lovin' the Bumbo

He does great in his bumbo! When these were taken he was a bit wobbly still but he can stay upright in it really well now! Amazing how fast he changes in just a week!

What's up mom??

Wedding weekend

The other weekend we got to be a part of our good friends' wedding (Tyson was a groomsman). Truman and Jordan put on one of the most beautiful weddings I've ever been to. We are so happy/excited for them as they start their life officially together! Was a great weekend to connect with friends. Here are a few quick pictures.

diaper disaster

For three years Stacia girl was our baby. That all changed on Jan. 25, 2011. She has since then taken on the attitude of "bad attention is still attention, and I'll take it!" What I mean is that she has been behaving badly but doesn't seem to mind the scoldings at all. Two minutes later she is wagging her tail.

Over the last couple months she has on several occasions "untrashed our trash," left us gifts in the living room (the kind that have to be flushed down the toilet), and snatched a couple of baby toys. Last night beat them all.

Tyson and I were in a big hurry yesterday to leave for a flying trip to Omaha followed by an evening in Wood River. We did a quick diaper change on the little man before we loaded our arms and head out the door. Upon throwing the diaper into the "genie," we noticed it was full and we simply could not fit one more diaper in. Tyson pulled out the bag, sealed it, and set it down by the genie. We forgot to grab it on our way out the door (STUPID!) where we could have so easily thrown it into the dumpster as we walked to the car.

When we got home late that night, little man was huuuungry and I rushed him to our room to feed him. I was welcomed by a terrible smell as I went up the stairs. Wads of wet, juicy diapers were everywhere. It didn't take long to clean up (thanks Tyson, the vaccuum, and carpet cleaner!) but it was quite repulsive.

SO we (the dog and I) had a talk. She promised to try to do better and I vowed to spend a little more time rubbing her little belly. But I WILL NOT EVER kiss her nose again.

in "sickness and in health"

Got sick yesterday and ended the evening by throwing up. Made a big mess in the bathroom cuz I barely made it there on time (was trying to untangle myself from blankets and get the babe laid down nicely on the bed... Tyson was downstairs getting me some fruit to eat because it was the only thing I felt like eating). I felt so gross afterwards and it got in my hair so I immediately got in the shower. My amazing husband cleaned it all up with a very happy heart and took care of Z the rest of the night. I love my husband!!! Good thing he's already mine, cuz if he wasn't, I'd have to do something about that.

First laughs

Here is a video of some of Zade's first laughs. He is super sleepy in this video and Tyson keeps getting him to smile. He laughs twice. Love him!!!

Woohoo for Spring!!

Zade is almost 11 weeks old. We are having SOO much fun with him! He is smiling lots but he often holds out on giving them, making one result to using the most ridiculous-sounding "baby" talk... you know what I mean... that high pitched cooing voice. And it works. Almost every time. I mean, who wouldn't laugh at a grown person talking like that. Such a smart boy... he has already figured out how to get us to entertain him. :-)

He is also using his eyes a lot. When you talk to him, his eyes find you. I have caught him watching Stacia (the dog) leave the room several times. It is so fun to see him develop! He has become so much more alert and vocal with coos and little outbursts too. Tyson had to leave the sanctuary with him today at church. He no longer sleeps through the service. Next week we are thinking we will probably just drop him off at the nursery. Sigh... my little boy is already growing up!

Went back to work a couple of weeks ago. Although I miss him when I'm gone, it has been good to get out of the house for those three days. Two would be perfect, but three is okay. It makes me appreciate my time with him! And we have great family/friends who watch him so I know he is just fine!

We are LOVING that it is getting so nice out!! We have had many great walks! Also enjoying opening up the windows. Zade must have gotten used to the trains when he was in my tummy because they don't bother him a bit!

Had another playdate with Mallory and sweet little Maci (born 20 days before Z) this week. Lots of fun to talk about mom stuff and see how different the babies are. My mom and dad also got to stop by this week so that was fun.

Here is a short video of Zade working on his smiles in the mirror. And of me... using that "baby" voice. :-)
